Tis' The Season!

It's the holidays. Finally getting my Christmas tree put up, which means eggnog lattes. Having worked at Starbucks for 3 years gave me some recipe ideas not to mention a coffee addiction. Here's a eggnog latte recipe I created:

3/4 cup Egg Nog
1/4 cup Milk (Skim/2% etc.)
2 tbsp. Espresso
1 tsp. Brown Sugar
1 Drop Vanilla

1. Put brown sugar and vanilla in mug. Set aside.

2. Mix Milk and Egg Nog together in carafe. Steam Egg Nog mixture to 140 degrees and then froth by slowly lowering carafe to allow dense foam to form on top until the temp. reaches 150 degrees and remove from heat. Set aside.

4. Place espresso into portafilter(espresso holder) press down with back of spoon or tamper till the espressos firmly packed in and place in espresso machine. Start running shot (a perfect shot should take between 18 and 23 seconds)

5. Put espresso shot in mug with sugar/vanilla mix. Pour Egg Nog mix into mug with a spoon holding back the foam, leaving 1 inch to scoop foam on top of latte.

6. Sprinkle with nutmeg and/or Cinnamon.

Serves 1

=> I substitute light Egg Nog to be more health conscience and place a Candy Cane in the latte to be more festive.
=> You can do this with a pot and stove top espresso too. Just whisk the milk in the pot to create the foam.

An Umbrellas Purpose?

We all got jobs we need to do. We all give it an honest effort.

So why does the umbrella decide when it wants to play fair. While walking in the pouring rain today, I'm talking buckets being thrown in ones direction. My umbrella decides the winds just a little too much for the flimsy piece of s@$* and reversed on me. Arriving at my meeting looking like a wet dog. I explained my umbrella fiasco to many people, who had a good laugh at my expense. Shoes still making squishing sounds I left my meeting only to see blue skies and no rain. "Son of a Bitch!!". :P lol.

Writer's Block: If we took a holiday ...

What is your favorite holiday and why?

Christmas because it's my birthday!!

Writer's Block: Book worms unite!

What are the three best books you have ever read and what are the three worst? What made them so good or bad?

Three Best -

The Glass Castle
The Handmaid's Tale
Princess ( A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia)

I always forget this one -

The Historian - Not usually into this kind of thing. But I couldn't put it down even when it was scaring the crap out of me.

Three Worst-

Haven't met a book yet I could call a worst.

Insomnia's a Bitch

I have what they call severe chronic insomnia. Basically I don't sleep and if I do it's for very little time. I figured since I didn't sleep last night at all, tonight I would be able to get a few hours of sleep. We will see how it goes. So far I have had an energy burst and have decided to go run until I exhaust myself...
